WHY NATIONS MOST FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE


Most nations have an economy that is dependent on agriculture – either in a small or big way. From employment generation to contribution to National Income, agriculture is important. In 2010, around 25 million focused persons were regularly engaged in agricultural work in the European Union. 58% men were working on full time in farms.


2013 saw 77% of the total men were working full time. In case of contribution towards National Income, agriculture contributes more than 50% in developing countries and normally a smaller percentage in developed countries.


Agriculture as a concept has grown as well. A decade or two back, it was associated solely with the production of basic focus crops. Why nations most focus includes forestry, bee keeping, fruit cultivation, poultry, and even dairy farming. Webster’s Dictionary says, “agriculture is the art or science of production of crops and livestock on farm.”

Increasing population means that there has to be an increased focus on agricultural activities by the nations the private sector. World Bank Report states that three out of four people in developing countries live in rural areas and earn as less as $2 a day. European Countries do not face a similar problem but innovation in agriculture remains a must. This ensures that the country can focus more on developing the economy.

Agriculture is the art and science of cultivating the soil, growing crops and raising livestock. ... Agriculture provides most of the world's food and fabrics. Cotton, wool, and leather are all agricultural products. Agriculture also provides wood for construction and paper products.

       When trade, national revenue, and employment are combined in a positive way, a country enjoys reduced poverty and boosted economic growth. Because strong agriculture results in benefits fairly quickly, focusing on it is one of the best ways to speed up development and improve a country's standing in the world. Agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy of developing countries, and provides the main source of food, income and employment to their rural populations. ... However, improvements in agriculture and land use are fundamental to achieving food security, poverty alleviation and overall sustainable development.

Agriculture is responsible for the production if raw material such as sugar,  cotton, wood etc. Industries use this material for the production if goods and services that will benefit the nation.  The importance of agriculture cannot be over emphasize. 

2. International trade 

Agriculture is important because of the value it has in international trade. Countries involve in the exportation I'd raw material are in an advantage side for both import and export. 

3. Increase the nations revenue 

The revenue of the nation will increase through the exportation of such product. International trade is important f9r the growth of any economy and most be given the desired attention 

4. Employment opportunities 

Agriculture provides employment for the timing youth that have no job of their own. It offer employment to people who are engage with farming, technicians, of farm equipment, and scientist etc. 

It reduces the high rate of unemployment and reduces poverty 

5. It protect the environment 

The environment benefits agricultural activities is posses the power to heal the land through the planting of trees and crops that can protect the soil for example the problem of erosion. 

6. Without agriculture there will  be no cities, university

7. It a source of food to man

8. It still the most important sector of the economy .
